Divider I by RBSRdesigns

Our focus is to collect original and exceptional animal artwork, with Quality over Quantity.

Please read through these rules before joining or submitting art to the club. Failure to follow these rules may result in a rejection.

:thumb335875520: Guidelines for Art:
Journal Graphic-Bar 1 by Momma--G
You may submit 3 pieces per week to the gallery.

We will accept the following mediums: Digital Art, Photo Manipulations, Traditional Art, and Artisan Crafts. We DO NOT accept photography or literature.

Please submit to the correct gallery!

Submissions must be of your own work. Please do not post work that you have found online or that contains material or Stock without the original creators permission and consent, and make sure to include proper credit in the description of the piece.
FAQ #217: What are "Stock and Resources" and can I use them in my submissions?
FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?
FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?

Submissions must be of finished, completed work. This club is intended for exceptional artwork, not works-in-progress, sketches, memes, line art, or quick colourings of bases. Any pieces deemed as such will not be accepted.

Art is accepted based on the quality and skill shown. We judge based on several factors, including the following criteria:
> The image must use an animal as the main focus.
> The animal(s) should be drawn with accurate and proper anatomy.
> The art should have a good composition.
> It should exhibit good use of colouring, lighting and/or shading.
> It should not display poor use of smudge tools, filters, nor obvious or poorly used foliage, fur etc. brushes.
> It should not have a sloppy or badly drawn background.
> We do not accept very low quality or badly scanned images.

Images that we accept follow most or all of the criteria above.

2. An admin will look at your gallery, and if they deem your gallery to be of good quality, with appropriate images to contribute to the group, you will be accepted. (ie. you have a great style, at least five animal pictures in your gallery, unique art and/or we see potential)
3. If you are accepted, you may then contribute art and participate in this group.

:thumb335875520: Why was I rejected as a member?
Journal Graphic-Bar 1 by Momma--G
Anyone can be a watcher, but being a member is a privilege. We reject many join requests, so please remember to read the criteria listed above and try to evaluate yourself first based upon the existing works in our gallery.
Don't be discouraged as an artist if you are declined - do some research and practice until you feel confident and come back and try to join again. We'll be happy to look at your gallery once more.

:thumb335875520: Why was my artwork rejected?
Journal Graphic-Bar 1 by Momma--G
Keep in mind that just because you are accepted as a member, doesn't mean that all artwork you submit will be accepted. Your work may be good, but does it meet the exceptional standards of this group? Previous artwork may be good enough to include in the group, however that doesn't mean all future artwork will be of the exceptional standard we seek.
Use the rejection as an opportunity to grow as an artist and create the best art you can, paying attention to details, to the style, and most of all, pay attention to the quality of your next piece. Rejection should not be seen as an insult to your art.
We love to see artists grow and develop, so don't be afraid to try again in the future! If we reject a submission we may sometimes go back through your gallery and select a different picture to be included in its place, helping you decide which works you should submit next time.

If you have any questions or need help, feel free to contact us by using the Send a Note button at the top of the page!
Hello guys! :la:

Exceptional Animals needs help to grow and become awesome! Us founders, CobraVenom and Ilenora are too busy to bring this group to its full potential, so we are looking for Contributors to help out and make this group more active!

The position open is for Contributors.

• Contributor Duties •

You job will be to find and accept new art and members into the group. You will have to:
- Be dedicated. Check in at least once every few days.
- Accept or decline submissions for art, members and affiliates.
- Seek out new art and members to invite to the group.
- Be kind and mature to all members and staff.

• Form •

Please submit this form filled out in a note.

* How active are you on DA:
* Your experience with groups (if none write N/A):
* Why you think you are fit for the position:
* 3 examples of art or members that you would accept into our group:
* Any example of art or member that you would decline:

All applications will be considered! :meow:

• About the Position•

Your main job is to get more art and members into our group so our watchers have awesome art to look at!

You don't have to be a member to apply. Although your own art skills can be at any level to take the job, we will only accept your own art into the group gallery if it meets our high standards. However you will have a constant feature on our group homepage.

Regardless of your own skill, you must have an eye for the very best animal art. Contributors must uphold our exceptional standards when inviting, submitting art or accepting members. This means being very critical and rejecting a lot of people. Sometimes art may fall on a fine line between exceptional or not - in this case you are free to leave the decision up to a founder or ask us about it.
If you need help, a founder can give you a guide with examples on what art to accept or decline.

You must also follow our rules - this means no photography, literature, stolen art, messy sketches, etc. The rules are on the front page at all times as well as a guide on what art is judged on.

You will be expected to seek out new art and members for the group - this might mean looking through the Daily Deviations, the Popular page, or picking someone you watch or favourite.

You will be free to leave the position at any time.

Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing your applications!

I'm curious... I searched through the gallery a bit to look around, however do you have any pictures of hyenas, or a place for the mustelidae (Weasels, badgers, ect.) family? Hyenas are more closely related to felines than canines, but there are of their own family - Hyaenidae.

Hi there, thanks for asking :) Currently those species would go in 'Miscellaneous or Multiple'.

Hello, and thanks for your interest :)

Unfortunately I don't believe you are quite ready to join our gallery. But you're definitely well on your way! If you'd like, you can +watch our group by going to our page and finding the Watch button in the top right corner.
Keep practising and improving and feel free to resubmit in the future :)

If you do want to submit a picture to a group, you first have to Join. The Join button is in the bar near the top of the page, next to Send a Note. Different groups have different joining processes - in our case we only accept members if their art is the quality we are looking for. Once you've joined, go to the appropriate folder in the gallery, and click Submit to This Folder.

Thank you very much for the invitation. Love the rules - hope you can keep up the high standards. It could be an excellent group! But you are bound catch some flack from artists who's work does not qualify.

You're most welcome :meow:
I'm glad you can appreciate the high standards, we will strive to only ever provide the best animal art out there ^_^
Actually so far it's been really good and we've had no complaints, despite having to refuse a lot of join requests. Hopefully we won't run into too much trouble in the future.
