"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." Anatole France
:thumb335875520: RULES :thumb335875520:
Our focus is to collect original and exceptional animal artwork, with Quality over Quantity.
Please read through these rules before joining or submitting art to the club. Failure to follow these rules may result in a rejection.
:thumb335875520: Guidelines for Art:
You may submit 3 pieces per week to the gallery.
We will accept the following mediums: Digital Art, Photo Manipulations, Traditional Art, and Artisan Crafts. We DO NOT accept photography or literature.
Please submit to the correct gallery!
Submissions must be of your own work. Please do not post work that you have found online or that contains material or Stock without the original creators permission and consent, and make sure to include proper credit in the description of the piece.
FAQ #217: What are "Stock and Resources" and can I use them in my submissions?
FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?
FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?
Submissions must be of finished, completed work. This club is intended for exceptional artwork, not works-in-progress, sketches, memes, line art, or quick colourings of bases. Any pieces deemed as such will not be accepted.
Art is accepted based on the quality and skill shown. We judge based on several factors, including the following criteria:
> The image must use an animal as the main focus.
> The animal(s) should be drawn with accurate and proper anatomy.
> The art should have a good composition.
> It should exhibit good use of colouring, lighting and/or shading.
> It should not display poor use of smudge tools, filters, nor obvious or poorly used foliage, fur etc. brushes.
> It should not have a sloppy or badly drawn background.
> We do not accept very low quality or badly scanned images.
Images that we accept follow most or all of the criteria above.
1. Click "Join Our Group"
2. An admin will look at your gallery, and if they deem your gallery to be of good quality, with appropriate images to contribute to the group, you will be accepted. (ie. you have a great style, at least five animal pictures in your gallery, unique art and/or we see potential)
3. If you are accepted, you may then contribute art and participate in this group.
For people who would like to enjoy the artwork and updates, but do not have any exceptional animal pieces in their gallery - add us to your devWATCH by clicking the "+deviantWATCH" button.
:thumb335875520: How to Submit Art:

:thumb335875520: Why was I rejected as a member?
Anyone can be a watcher, but being a member is a privilege. We reject many join requests, so please remember to read the criteria listed above and try to evaluate yourself first based upon the existing works in our gallery.
Don't be discouraged as an artist if you are declined - do some research and practice until you feel confident and come back and try to join again. We'll be happy to look at your gallery once more.
:thumb335875520: Why was my artwork rejected?
Keep in mind that just because you are accepted as a member, doesn't mean that all artwork you submit will be accepted. Your work may be good, but does it meet the exceptional standards of this group? Previous artwork may be good enough to include in the group, however that doesn't mean all future artwork will be of the exceptional standard we seek.
Use the rejection as an opportunity to grow as an artist and create the best art you can, paying attention to details, to the style, and most of all, pay attention to the quality of your next piece. Rejection should not be seen as an insult to your art.
We love to see artists grow and develop, so don't be afraid to try again in the future! If we reject a submission we may sometimes go back through your gallery and select a different picture to be included in its place, helping you decide which works you should submit next time.
If you have any questions or need help, feel free to contact us by using the Send a Note button at the top of the page!
